Website Authoring (...and Maintenance)

I have been building websites for a good few years now, getting more serious over the past three years. See the homepage for a selection of my portfolio, which I am working on growing now.

I build simple but effective websites, coding directly in html for the greatest control over the look and for the 'lightest' weight pages: they load quickly, and are compatible with all commonly used browsers!

JNMedia.co.uk can help you create an online presence from nothing to a slick website which lists highly on Google and other key search engines.

The first step is to create your 'look'. The starting point for this is your logo, so that the site compliments your 'corporate identity'. The resulting site will look coherent and professional!

The process is shown in the picture, left. At each stage, I will defer to you for approval and input, it is after all your site!

If you don't have a logo, which is the seed from which the site will grow, JNMedia.co.uk can help you to create a effective, creative and recognisable logo which you can be proud of! See below for more info.

I can also teach you to maintain your website, so that you can keep the content bang-up-to-date! All the software I use is free-to-use: you can download it (only a few megabytes) and edit away! The only caveat is that you have to want to. If I build your website, I will always be around to give free help if you get stuck. Otherwise, JNMedia.co.uk can do specific updates to your requirements for a small fee.

I do ask that you register a domain name yourself, I recommend one.com, though there are plenty of providers. this is so that the domain gets registered to you, and future annual subsciptions go to you, not me! It's very easy and takes about 48 hours after purchase. then you just forward me the emails with access details and I'll get to work on the site!

If you would prefer, I can set up the domain on your behalf, but I will use your email address for the subscription, so you must react to the instructions sent to you by the hosting company. I will liaise with you to determine an acceptable domain name (e.g. "www.mywebsite.com")

Typically, web hosting also comes with unlimited email aliases, so you can create email addresses such as "sales@mywebsite.com" and then set up forwarding so that email to that address get re-directed to an account you check regularly! Your clients need never know!
