Terms & conditions

As with all things, I have to set some ground rules. These are to protect you and me, and will form the basis for a sound relationship! Thanks for your patience in reading these, and respecting them.

Throughout these T&Cs, the words "you" and "your" refer to the commissioning entity, while the words "I", "We" and "myself" refer to JNMedia.co.uk.

These terms and conditions went live on JNMedia.co.uk/terms.shtml on 6th June 2010 at version 1.0.


A - Payment

  1. To undertake any work, I require a deposit of £50. This will be deducted from the balance due at the end of the commission. I accept payment in the following forms:
  2. PayPal - subject to 8% surcharge to feed the eBay beast cover fees
  3. Personal Cheque - Payable to James Nichols
  4. Online BACS transfer - contact me for this one
  5. Cold, hard cash. In person. Seriously, don't post it.

B - Limits of Liability

  1. Any contact you receive through your website is your responsibility.
  2. The content of your website is your property. JNMedia.co.uk would like to link to your site, with your permission.
  3. Once handover is complete, maintenance of the website is your responsibility. JNMedia.co.uk can provide updates, but these are subject to additional fees.
  4. "Handover" is defined as the point at which JNMedia.co.uk has fulfilled its requirements as set out at the commencement of the commission. The formal identification of this will be written, and will form the basis for balance payment for completion, via any of the means identified above.
  5. JNMedia.co.uk takes no responsibility for the content of your website, or any implied responsibility between you and your subsequent customers. It is your responsibility to proof all online copy and your commercial terms and conditions.
  6. Any data, content, images or text should be backed up by you, JNMedia.co.uk will not be held responsible for the loss of any data. (Although I will use good practice in backing up all data as often as practicable.)

C - Data Protection

  1. Any information conveyed from you to JNMedia.co.uk will be held in the strictest confidence.
  2. However, if there are items of particular sensitivity, you must identify these to JNMedia.co.uk.
  3. If it's that sensitive, should you be considering whether to put it on the internet at all?

D - Lead Time

  1. The lead time to completion is a function of the work content under commission.
  2. Please convey all anticipated timeframes as early as possible to prevent disappointment
  3. JNMedia.co.uk reserves the right to re-negotiate the delivery date for any given commission within reasonable timeframes. JNMedia.co.uk will always endeavour to work with you in this capacity
  4. If there are any critical dates for the completion of the commission, it is your responsibility to inform me of them.
  5. JNMedia.co.uk is not liable for any losses manifesting from your website being late.

E - Miscellaneous

  1. If the scope or requirements change during the job beyond that which was agreed at the outset, JNMedia.co.uk reserve the right to re-negotiate charges.
  2. If the scope or requirements change massively during the job, JNMedia.co.uk reserve the right to cease work immediately and retain any monies already received, and the agreement may be considered null and void.
  3. JNMedia.co.uk reserve the right to change the terms defined on this page at any time.
  4. Your statutory rights are not affected.
  5. Any design concepts generated by JNMedia.co.uk not used on your website remain the property of JNMedia.co.uk
